Roofing is over!

The second week of November marked  the completion of second phase of our nursery school construction with the completion of roofing. It was a big relief from the current torrential rains in the region hitting hard. The third phase is also our final construction phase and should be resuming straight away but only has been delayed until we find the necessary funds and materials for the completion. Please in the gallery below, enjoy the new tent in the new school structures walls.

Teacher Joy-R, and Teacher Angela-L,
pause for a group pic with their nursery section students in
front of the primary school gate where they have been hosted for
over 10 years. This may be their last pic before  they move to their
own new school premises. All are grateful for the hospitality received from the
primary section along all these years.

Water Project almost complete!

The long awaited water project is almost complete. The water pumping has been delayed by a mistake in underestimating the steepness of the hill and the size of the pump. After the first pump could not push the water through the hill to the school, consultations were made and a new pump with more capacity and new small sized pipes had to be ordered and the old ones to be unearthed and new ones fixed. It was very frustrating piece of work but was eventually done. With the new pump, pumping has been tested and water gashed at the school tank in an excitement of everyone especially the school kids to whom the greatest burden of fetching water rests upon. However, the pumping was put on hold in order to first procure a regulator device to avoid taking any chances with imbalances of electric current flows blowing off the pump. Its also to buy time to get the electrician find out the possibility of connecting the pump with solar power and see the viability  of its efficiency. Right now the new water is being enjoyed using the alternative means of a borehole. An electric pump regulator has also been advised by the electric engineers as a necessary equipment to reduce the risk of the pump being brown off in case of an abrupt high or low voltage fluctuations. Thanks to this new thought as a great input from Dr. Bruce. Below are our most recent pictures.
The new borehole and pump all sit in a new protection house as seen below.

School Leavers 2015

Everything has  an end. Our students who had made our school their second home for ten years, last Tuesday November 3rd, finished their national examination tests and have just gone home. Their national examinations marked their completion of their primary education and entry to higher education upon successful results. We are not having any doubts that our candidates will do well as the three years before them have  always passed with excellency and our mission and input for quality education is maintained to date.
To our dear students who have been in our Rubanda Solidarity school home for ten years ( three for nursery school and seven for primary), we wish you the best in your life. May the knowledge and wisdom you have acquired with us carry you through so many years of your life. May they help you to live a worthy and beneficial life both to yourself,  your family and our nation and the world over. We do not have any regrets about your stay with us but always we will miss you dearly though for a right cause. You have to leave us to somewhere else so that you may become someone more useful as you get more exposure and wiser. God bless you as he has always done even when you were so tiny to grasp it.
To our cherished reader, please find here below a photo of our school leavers (candidates 2015) who have just left our school to their families and long vacation until their results are out to join secondary education. Together we promise to keep connected with each other through the school alumni that takes place every year during the long vacation since 2014. Our next school Alumni will take place on January 21-22 2016 at our school premises. Your are welcome.

Nursery school construction updates

Few weeks in a silence mode, work has been going on. Here in the pictures is the update of where our new nursery school construction is, on its second phase. We will soon start the third phase which is the finishing phase, if we get the necessary funds. We are more than grateful to all our generous donors and friends who are contributing generously to make sure that this coming year 2016, our little ones may have a roof, get out of dust and be free of fleas. The year 2016 certainly will be a unique year in Rubanda community but very much so for our little kids. Follow the gallery ..
