New Shelter 4KIDS

Easter is new life 4 Kids @ Rubanda

Kids enjoying week end leisure time at their school compound

For the little kids of our young "Rubanda Solidarity Nursery/Primary school",
moving from dusty and grassy shelters into new and sanitary dormitories is more than having life. Its totally a resurrection.
"Friendly, Easter smiles to our friends & supporters", kids prayer.

In 2008 God blessed our school with the visit of our friends from, Brasilita Onlus, Cuore Amico Onlus, Crode del Sud Ass. to Rubanda community. Jointly our parents and guardians raised funds for our new dormitory facility beautifying the eyes as seen in the photo below. We are very grateful to all our friends.

Rubanda Solidarity started in 2004. It has since then traveled bitter but hopeful journeys of poverty. And certainly things are changing and new life is emerging as burdens get lighter, Friends' list grows and our motto," United we succeed", starts to bare fruits.

The first structure of Rubanda Solidarity Nursery and Primary school in 2005
This kid walks a hard journey of poverty. Before she plans for her education she has to take care of her family. She parents her her mom and dad who are sick.
She also takes care of her two brothers and one sister.

Kids like her are those who inspired the foundation of Rubanda Solidarity Community Development Association.

Every early morning, Faith (not her real name), picks her small jerrycan and rushes two kilometers to fetch water. There after she prepares available food for meals. Late after noon she goes with or without friends to the bushes to hunt for fire wood for dinner preparation. Oh what a  killer HIV/Virus for Faith and many other kids in Rubanda.

At her feeble age, everyone is amazed how Faith  is already a mother, parenting her family. Faith represents many African children who forcefully start parenthood at an early age. Like faith many kids stretch out their kids for help-education is number one of liberation.

In 2005 Faith started aspiring to enter Rubanda Solidarity Nursery Primary school. But she couldn't because she could not afford school dues and care to her sick parents were her priority. She was only able to join in 2007.
Faith did not find life at the school so different because our school was in its first stages fighting with poverty as well. During breaks she still had to join other kids to the well for their kitchen and sanitation usage.  What a hell for Faith.
Kids share together the joys of the Risen Lord as they enter their new dormitories

However, in 2008 our school started a project of this new dormitory and at its ribbon cutting, during the Easter time, Faith exclaimed,"the Lord is Risen."  And as all kids joined Faith to enter the new school dormitories joy filled the air. They were very anxious and excited about their future (right).

This new dormitory facility that accommodates more than 90 kids in our boarding program is an amazing grace to our little
poor kids. They smilingly appreciate the generosity
of all all friends and benefactors involved in its realization in their interests through quality education. "God bless all of you, our friends", their prefect
joyfully pronounced.

Kids on their beds in the new dormitories
Kids like adults, love to sleep well. This dream has been realized. Our kids are now able to keep the dust out of their feet, beds and sleeping rooms. No need of mention but flees and bedbugs as well are far gone. Life is changing with Easter for our little kids too. "Oh we are risen with Christ", the kids jubilantly exclaimed as they entered their new dormitories and jumped over their new beds playfully.

Hard life, however, remains for more 90 kids not able to get accommodated into the new facility. They are patiently waiting for other friends to pull them out ofthe dust and grass they are in. You could be that next friend?

God bless you all, friends.
